Louis Chevrolet :
Louis Chevrolet Louis-Joseph Chevrolet
was born December 25th, 1878 in La Chaux-de-Fonds, Switzerland. His
family goes to France in 1887 and lives in Beaune. Louis works as a
cycle mechanic, then he has a passion for cars mechanical engineering. In 1900 - he's then 22
- Louis Chevrolet flies to USA ; there he works for several cars manufacturers.
He becomes famous as a race car pilot, winning many victories.
In 1911, Louis Chevrolet founds the Chevrolet
Motor Car Company, that will create different types of cars. He leaves
the company in 1913 ; this one merges with General Motors in 1933. Louis Chevrolet will go
on to create new cars though, essentielly meant for racing. Health problems
force him to cease his active duty in 1934 ; he dies june 6th, 1941 in
Detroit, at the age of 62.
